The ecological park is a special place where visitors can enjoy a natural setting where the different ecosystems work together to create habitat for animals and a system of pathways and opportunities for human recreation. In keeping with the overall design intent of an ecological park, Valerian designed an interactive Children’s Garden with historical perspective to demonstrate how our lives have changed over time. It is designed to be low maintenance and encourage exploratory plan. The design includes a trail loop just past the west side entrance leads to a sleeping buffalo herd, interactive teepee area, log bridges over the dry stream bed, old settlement with lean-tos and the remnants of a settler’s homestead as well as an orchard utilizing on site trees.
