This planned, 160-acre residential community features a variety of lot sizes. The plan will give future builders multiple options for development. A 30-acre open space park is centrally located within the community to preserve the views and existing native grasses. Very selective grading accommodates a regional trail which connects the Gravely Knobs within Thornton. In addition to a regional trail there is also a secondary trail, providing additional access to the overlook gathering space at the top of the hill. Three custom shelters with benches will be perched on the hill to provide protection from the elements while preserving the views of Longs Peak, Pikes Peak, and Mt. Evans.
In addition to the 30-acre open space park, there is a playground, 30’ x 40’ picnic pavilion, and an active play field. This “traditional” park is carefully graded into the side of the hill and uses a small seat wall as a transition between manicured and native plantings.
The trail system was designed to feature exceptional views and provide additional access to the park. The site plan also includes a school site and a 3-acre active recreation park.
