Valerian collaborated with the City of Lakewood and the Alameda Corridor Business Improvement District to provide the Landscape Prioritization Plan as a framework for implementing landscape and streetscape improvements in the Alameda Corridor Business District. The intent of this plan was to develop achievable approaches and objectives to improve the existing landscape while recognizing this segment of Alameda Avenue is an important corridor that serves as the ‘Front Door’ to Belmar and Lakewood City Commons, the keystone developments of Downtown Lakewood. This comprehensive plan builds upon previous planning efforts and provides strategic and buildable alternatives that support the vision to strengthen the identity of this distinctive multi-modal corridor.

Valerian completed the Streetscape Concept Landscape Treatment Plan as a supplemental document to the Prioritization Plan. This plan further supports the initial objectives of the Prioritization Plan through the development of the right-of-way urban design landscape treatments from Wadsworth to Sheridan Boulevard.
