DEN HOTEL & TRANSIT CENTER

As the landscape architect of record for the South Terminal Redevelopment Program, Valerian was involved in all facets of the project from schematic design through construction observation. In collaboration with the design team, Valerian assisted with the design development of the entry landscape that spans 4 football fields, the train platform amenities, the 80,000 square foot plaza, the entry experience from the parking garage to the lobby of the hotel, and the connection to the interior plantings and containers.

The concept of connection is seen throughout the project. Views from one element of the project to another give travelers an intuitive sense of where they are in relationship to the Public Transit Center, hotel, plaza, and terminal. Our landscape design has celebrated the concept of convergence which happens through the use of paving patterns, amenities, and views leading to the plaza.
Working closely with the Maintenance Division of DIA and the Division of Wildlife, Valerian utilized native landscape materials with extreme sensitivity to plants that would not attract wildlife.
