Valerian was the lead landscape architect for this six-acre neighborhood park that includes natural play as a predominant component of the park program. This first of its kind natural play based project was the pilot partner project between Denver Parks and Mile High Flood District. This project involved a large multi-disciplinary team including civil engineers, geomorphologists, ecologists, environmental specialists, playground consultants and contractors. The team worked together to ensure that every portion of the park was purposely and intentionally designed to engage visitors with real nature and highlight all five senses.
