CASFM 2020 – Sanderson Gulch Improvements an Engineering Excellence Award Nominee

As 2020 continues to keep us physically distant, the annual Colorado Association of Stormwater and Floodplain Managers (CASFM) will be a virtual conference this year. While we are bummed that we will not be able to see our favorite fellow water enthusiasts in person this year, Valerian is pleased to announce the Sanderson Gulch Channel Improvements along the South Platte River have been nominated for the CASFM 2020 Engineering Excellence Award!

The entire design team will present the innovative approach that took an undersized culvert and channel in a narrow urban corridor to a healthy, vegetated channel and box culvert system that now exceeds stormwater conveyance. The presentation begins at 1:00pm on Thursday October 1st and voting for the award recipient will take place from 1:30pm, ending promptly at 2:00pm. So don’t forget to vote!!

As a Platinum Sponsor of CASFM 2020, Valerian will have a virtual booth that will allow other attendees to learn more about us and our work, and even chat with us in real time – be sure to say hello! You can also catch our own Brent Kaslon on Thursday morning as he serves as the moderator for the “Water Medley” session.

While we know this year’s conference will be different, we are looking forward to three days of learning, inspiration and hopefully some new [virtual] connections!
