Stagecoach Trailhead Reopens

The Stagecoach Trailhead at Elk Meadow Park, in Evergreen Colorado, reopened to the public on Saturday, October 25, following completion of the trailhead improvement project. The reopening also includes the newly improved South Stagecoach area, providing enhanced access to Jenkins Peak. The design team, contractors, Jefferson County Open Space (JCOS) staff and community members gathered to celebrate the soft opening on Friday, October 24th. Valerian collaborated heavily with ICON Engineering and JCOS in order to develop a site plan that expands trailhead capacity, facilitates multiple types of vehicular traffic, offers enhanced ADA accessibility, all while staying conscientious of the footprint in a pristine mountain meadow. Trailhead amenities include a vault restroom, bike tool station, multiple trail kiosks with wayfinding signage, boulder seating and relocated picnic areas. The design team also carefully selected specific materials that would maintain the mountain character and blend into the natural environment.

Thank you to all those who helped see these improvements through!
